Your role

Interns at RSM work on multiple team engagements each year, including several pieces of any particular assignment - not just one part.  Working in a mutually respectful team environment helps their associates perform at their best and integrate their careers with their personal lives. 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Understanding clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues.
• Developing an understanding of the RSM audit approach and tools.
• Assessing risks and evaluating the client's internal control structure.
• Performing substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Drafting financial statements under prescribed formats.

Training & development

Interns at RSM will work with diverse clients, honing skills in tax planning, research, and preparation of federal and state tax returns. Foster growth by enhancing their understanding of entity structures, compliance processes, and cutting-edge tax strategies, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of the evolving landscape in Private Client Services.

Salary & benefits

The compensation for the role starts at $35.00 per hour. Accordingly, the annual salary can be around $74,000 per year.

About you

Basic Qualifications:

• 90 credit hours completed.
• Working towards a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Accounting Major.
• Travel to assigned client locations may be required.
• Must have access to and ability to arrange for the use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations.​
• A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
