Your role
Collaborating – Participate in cross-functional discussions with mechanical, electrical, program management, and firmware engineers as well as fabricators and designers
Schematic design – use EDA tools to define the electrical components and their connectivity
Harness design – work on capturing the schematic and support team of technicians during the building of harnesses
PCB Layout – supervise the generation of board design files through all design phases
Validation – generate test plans with key milestones that focus on de-risking product and/or feature deployment and align with the program timelines
Prototyping – support early-stage new vehicle programs, by designing and integrating novel electromechanical systems
Characterization – ensure the hardware meets required design criteria across a host of environments and regulations while collaborating with the reliability, test, and homologation teams
Debugging – Use various debugging tools to do board-level as well as full system-level debugging, calibration, and tuning
Support – assist in detailed harness design, with schematics containing various endpoints, controllers, and other electronic devices

Compensation & Benefits
The salary for this role is $20.00 - $50.00 per hour. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. As a full-time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for:

About you
Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree or equivalent in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering
Experience with schematic design, component selection, and PCBAs
Experience with system design and integration
Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Experience using test and measurement equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, arbitrary waveform generators, etc.
Experience with PCBA assembly, soldering, debugging, reflow, etc.
Must be detail-oriented with an ability to think through problems on large complex assemblies
