The Rocket Mortgage Story

Dan Gilbert founded Rocket Mortgage (formerly called Quicken Loans) in 1985 based on the principle that house acquisition should be a simple process. To further pursue its dreams of seamless financing, the company started RockLoans.com in 1999.

RocketLoans was a lending website that brought mortgages online. Rocket Mortgage built upon the foundation of its successful website through a new Rocket Mortgage computerized platform in 2015.

The Rocket Mortgage platform elevated the customer base for Rocket Mortgage even further servicing over 30,000 lenders throughout the United States in 2017. To date, the company is finding new ways to accurately manage mortgages while removing procedural burdens from clients.

At Rocket Mortgage, simplicity is brilliant so every process with them is simple genius and their recruitment is not different. The process is designed to make applicants feel engaged, confident, and expressive.

There are five processes for recruitment at Rocket Mortgage, the first of which begins with applying with an updated resume. Graduate and internship applicants who complete the application submission are sent a confirmation mail. They are also asked to visit the company’s blog to learn more about the work culture.

Graduate and internship applicants whose resume best fits the job requirements are invited for a phone interview with a recruiter. This interview focuses on highlighting the candidate’s competencies.

After candidates complete the phone interview, they are invited for a virtual interview. In this interview, graduates and internship candidates enjoy a chance to interact with their potential teammates and have a direct feel of working at Rocket Mortgage.

After completing the virtual interview, qualified graduate and internship applicants are offered roles in the organization. Applicants who accept the employment offers are boarded into their respective roles at the organization through a new hire guidebook and directional assistance.
