As an Academic year intern, you’ll get immersed in exciting work, experience their unique NBCU culture, and feel real support and guidance for 2 whole semesters. 

The NBCUniversal Internship program allows students to unlock their potential by contributing to big projects in meaningful ways that matter. To thrive as an NBCU intern, you are ready to bring your passion for media, entertainment, and technology along with your desire to learn each day. 

    Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: 

    NBCUniversal owns a valuable portfolio spanning across broadcast divisions, cable networks, digital businesses, film, international, local media, Peacock and TV studio productions. 
       
    The Analytics, Insights & Measurement team utilizes new data measurement approaches, advanced analytics & tools, to present a unified measurement of data across the media landscape, as well as analytics and insights across the NBCU brands.   

    The Research Operations team ensures the accuracy of ratings that power billions in business across NBCU by managing programs, program details, schedules, and affiliate lineups utilized in the creation of Nielsen ratings. 

    The intern’s role will be to assist their team with submitting schedule information for NBC Broadcast and 1-2 of the Entertainment cable networks to Nielsen to ensure programming is reported accurately.  The intern would also be involved with helping link and release VOD assets for NBC Broadcast and Peacock to Neilsen and assisting with ad hoc projects that may come up. 

      Training & development

      During this internship, candidates will gain experience in managing schedule information submission to Nielsen, ensuring accurate programming reporting, and facilitating the linkage and release of VOD assets for NBC Broadcast and Peacock. You will have the opportunity to participate in ad hoc projects, providing valuable exposure to various aspects of media research operations.

      Salary & Benefits

      The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $30.00, while for graduate student interns, it is $35.00.

      About you

      Basic Requirements:

      • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for their 2024-2025 Academic Year Program. 
      • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits). 
      • Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. 
      • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024, to April 18, 2025. 
      • Must be willing to work in New York, NY. 

      Desired characteristics:

      • Students with a class standing of junior or above are preferred. 
      • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. 
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365; knowledge of Nielsen systems & applications and Tableau are a plus. 
      • Passion for the ever-changing media landscape. 
      • Willingness to learn and utilize new systems. 

      Academic year internship program: 

      • Applications Close: April 26th at 11:59 pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!  
      • Program Dates: September 16, 2024 – April 18, 2025. 
      • Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. The exact schedule is to be determined based on business needs.  They will do their best to accommodate course schedules. 
      • Format: The opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Miami, FL.
