Academic Year Internship Program:
Program Dates: September 16, 2024 - April 18, 2025.
Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. They will do their best to accommodate course schedules.

Corporate Communications, Creative Group:
They are seeking a Graphic Design intern to join the Creative Group at NBCUniversal. They produce various creative work for events, digital, video, consumer-facing and internal communications.
They are looking for an individual who is curious and excited about all things design including: brand identities, design systems, environmental design, typography, and illustration.
A self-starter with attention to detail who meets deadlines and is comfortable learning new design tools to keep pace with the ever-evolving design field and has a collaborative spirit.
Day-to-day responsibilities may include;
Using your graphic design skills to aid with internal and external communications.
Creating graphics for print, digital, events and on-air assets.
Fine-tuning typography for legibility and aesthetic.
Taking direction from and collaborating with creative leadership to offer multiple visual approaches.
Aiding in the development of multiple brands and design systems.
Presenting your ideas and being able to guide them through your thought process.
Direct-to-Consumer, Brand Creative & Design:
The Brand Design team at Peacock is responsible for building first in class brand visuals.
The Graphic Design Intern will contribute to the team by assisting in the creation of motion, OOH, digital, print, and social graphics.
Day-to-day responsibilities may include;
Prepping design assets for use by editors and motion designers.
Tracking the progress of design assets.
Gathering assets for use by vendors and in house designers.
Contributing ideas in the form of mood boards, style frames, storyboards, mockups, and final designs.
Designing presentations for internal stakeholders.
Creating and maintaining design templates.
Attending meetings with internal stakeholders and outside vendors.

Salary & benefits
The pay rate for undergraduate student interns is $17.00 per hour.

About you
Basic requirements:
Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2024 through April 2025). December 2024 graduates are not eligible for their 2024-2025 Academic Year Program.
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
Must be authorized to work in the United States throughout the entire duration of the internship (September 2024 to April 2025). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 16, 2024 to April 18, 2025.
Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
Desired characteristics:
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Excellent organization, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Strong writing and critical-thinking skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
For Corporate Communications, Creative Group;
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in graphic design or similar; Proficient with Adobe CC software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects; Experience in designing print, digital and animated assets; Knowledge of fonts and typography; Able to create graphic layouts, logos, illustrations, and keyart; Understanding of design principles such as: typography, layouts, grid systems, color theory, hierarchy, etc.; Knowledge of Cinema 4D, Adobe Dimension, Procreate and Figma a plus; Experience with motion graphics a plus.
For Direct-to-Consumer, Brand Creative & Design;
Strong interest in marketing, advertising, and/or streaming; Strong communicator and collaborator; Strong interest in media, entertainment, and design; Passionate about creating great work; Values and seeks out feedback; Knowledge of Cinema 4D, Adobe Dimension, Procreate and Figma preferred; A portfolio that demonstrates competency in graphic design and presentation.
Information for international students attending U.S. universities:
To participate in NBCUniversal’s 2024-2025 Academic Year internship program, you must confirm at the time of interview that you will be able to provide US work authorization documentation for the entire duration of the internship. Since the NBCU Academic Year Internship Program spans the traditional “Fall” and “Spring” semesters, you should talk to the DSO at your school’s International Students Services Office about your need to apply for CPT work authorization twice to ensure you are authorized to work both semesters and throughout the entirety of the program.
