Your role

Microsoft is looking for an intern with expertise in computational biology to help us make sense of the complex relationships in our data, be it through biostatistics, machine learning, domain expertise, or novel approaches including human-in-the-loop computing. Microsoft is particularly interested in building interpretable models to aid in downstream decision-making (e.g. by clinical analysts). You would be responsible for exploring some of the many interesting opportunities our datasets present. Datasets could range from genomics, multi-omics, text (e.g. electronic health records), images, and other multimodal data types, with which want to create novel interpretable biostatistics and/or machine learning models in uncovering relationships for biological, diagnostic, or therapeutic purposes.

About you

  • Must be accepted or currently enrolled in a master’s or Ph.D. program in computer science, quantitative social science, or a closely related STEM or social science field.
