Job Description

  • Our researchers and engineers pursue innovation in a range of scientific and technical disciplines to help solve complex challenges in diverse fields, including computing, healthcare, economics, and the environment.
  • Help bring high-density, high-power servers to the cloud. 
  • Study and contribute to the design of high current load voltage regulators for CPUs and collaborate on High-Voltage DC distribution investigations. 
  • Design, simulate, prototype, and test solutions working closely with internal teams as well as external power supply vendors.
  • During the 12-week internship, students are paired with mentors and expected to collaborate with other interns and researchers, present findings, and contribute to the vibrant life of the community.
  • Research internships are available in all areas of research and are offered year-round, though they typically begin in the summer.

Responsibilities

  • VAC and VDC applications.
  • Contribute and maintain design specifications.
  • Design of experiments.
  • Collect and Acquire data.
  • Bench setup, test execution, document performance data,
  • Analyze results including experimental error.
  • Design improvements.
  • Partner with external partners for manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be accepted or currently enrolled in a Graduate or Ph.D. Program in Electrical Engineering.
  • Participation in the Research Internship Program requires that you are physically located in the United States or Canada for the duration of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PSPICE, MathCAD or equivalent software tools.
  • Programming experience in developing simulators in C++ or Pytho.
  • Knowledge of Switch Mode Power Supplies and Linear Regulators.
  • Knowledge of Micro-VAC and Distributed VDC power systems
  • Eagerness to learn independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
