Job Description
The Health and Life Sciences Cloud and Data Engineering Team is offering a research internship that will focus on building technologies that enable sharing of health data while preserving the privacy of data subjects. This intern will join a cross-organization, multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and policy advocates focused on data privacy.
Responsibilities
- The position will entail collaboration with internal and external research organizations and stakeholders.
- During the 12-week internship, students are paired with mentors and expected to collaborate with other interns and researchers, present findings, and contribute to the vibrant life of the community.
- Research internships are available in all areas of research and are offered year-round, though they typically begin in the summer.
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree Program or Ph.D. Program in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
- Participation in the Research Internship Program requires that you are physically located in the United States or Canada for the duration of the internship.
- You’ll need to submit a minimum of two reference letters for this position. After you submit your application, a request for letters may be sent to your list of references on your behalf.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in privacy-preserving technologies and synthetic data generation.
- Excellent research collaboration skills and written/oral communication.
- Familiarity with healthcare/biomedical data and privacy policy.
