About McKinsey & Company

Since the company's formation in 1926, McKinsey has operated as a single global partnership united by a strong set of values, and the drive to deliver positive, enduring change. Today, McKinsey continues to combine bold strategies and transformative technologies to support organizations to innovate more sustainably, achieve lasting gains in performance, and build workforces that will thrive for this generation and the next. McKinsey serves as a lead partner of the Mission Possible Partnership, a coalition addressing one of the toughest challenges in climate change, decarbonizing seven of the world’s hardest-to-abate sectors by 2050.

Your Role

You will be based in one of our North America Offices as part of our Growth, Marketing, and Sales team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • You will collaborate with colleagues and clients to create new strategies across a wide platform of projects such as life-cycle management, pricing and promotions, marketing mix modeling, and analytic transformation.
  • You will help to expand our current analytics capabilities and architect new strategies and applications within a dynamic and innovative organization.
  • You will create valuable, transformative business strategies.
  • You will apply and advise teams on the state-of-the-art advanced analytic and quantitative tools and modeling techniques in order to derive business insights, solve complex business problems and improve decisions.
  • You will also conduct deep analytics on a broad set of client and external data and play a lead role in team problem-solving through findings and insights from that analysis.
  • Creating a roadmap for a greater understanding of analytics and its impact on the consulting population or partnering with other analytics consultants to ensure timely and effective methods for the extraction, assembly and transfer of broad, complex sets of data.

Training, Development & Rotations

McKinsey has the scale, training, people, and technology to help you deepen your skills, explore new areas, and do meaningful work. McKinsey invests more than $200 million to train its people. Consultants attend at least five weeks of formal programming in their first two years, starting with EMBARK, McKinsey's basic consulting training, plus advanced sessions on team management and client leadership. In addition to formal and in-person training, McKinsey has an extensive e-learning on-demand curriculum and office- and practice-based learning options. Developing exceptional people is one of the firm's core values. From day one, you’ll be mentored by your colleagues to help you draw on your skills and reach your full potential.

Salary & Benefits

Competitive salaries and attractive benefits packages are offered depending on the division you are working in at McKinsey. You may be eligible to receive a bonus that is typically paid once a year and is calculated based on your year-end performance rating. Employees can earn additional compensation and benefits which include health and life insurance, mental health care, health, retiree and saving accounts, family and parenting program, vacation and time-off, free food packs, tuition assistance, and job training. This role's annual compensation ranges from approximately $62,000 to $101,000.

Career Progression

McKinsey offers an opportunity beyond consulting, such as tech roles, Client Capability Network Roles, or in their broad internal roles. McKinsey has both formal and informal processes to help support you, such as a training program designed exclusively for recruits and experienced professional hires where you can meet McKinsey people from all over the world. McKinsey promotes consultants based on their potential, and there are no restrictions on the number of promotions or being elected to firm partner. McKinsey's mentorship model creates a culture in which every member is invested in the success of others. You’ll be challenged to broaden your skill set and step into leadership positions. The environment can be intense, but you won’t compete with other consultants.

Work Life Balance

A well-proportioned work-life balance is necessary to keep employees happy and productive. 63% of McKinsey & Company employees are satisfied with their work-life balance while 67% feel they are burnt out. About 31% of the employees at McKinsey & Company work eight hours or less, while 24% of them have a very long day - longer than twelve hours. In general, employees in the executive department and Asian or Pacific Islander employees believe they have a good work-life balance at McKinsey while employees in the operations department and employees in the HR department think there is room for improvement.

Culture & Vibe

McKinsey is known to have a flat hierarchy in its structure, with each member assigned as a mentor. The company is also popular with its tight competitiveness among its employees, whereby graduates and interns are guaranteed to have the most challenging workload and environment to learn and prove themselves stand out from each other. McKinsey is recognized as the most prestigious, and most trusted management consulting company.
