Your role

  • Responsible for the thermal/mechanical/electrical design, analysis, and development of electronic packages.
  • Defines overall package performance and specification and realizes technology certification through layout design and test vehicle design.
  • Conducts tests and research on basic materials and properties.
  • Establishes material specifications for contract assemblers and raw material vendors and interfaces with Quality Assurance and Purchasing regarding material quality and vendor performance.
  • Provides consultation concerning packaging problems and improvements in the packaging process.
  • Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.

Compensation & benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements depending on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. The salary range for this position is between US$43,000 - US$61,000. Career progression

As a test vehicle design engineer intern, the candidate will also work closely with other stakeholders from different organizations within the company to incorporate their inputs into the PKG design. Job function also involves managing design schedules, conducting design reviews, and guiding in the package tape-out process.

About you

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines
  • Prior experience with physical design (Package/PCB) or Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in scripting languages such as Python, VB, Matlab, etc.
