Job Description:

Be a member of a dynamic feature team using agile methodologies while developing firmware for leading edge HP printers. Work collaboratively with other feature team members on firmware development and test issues. Work independently on assigned design and development features.

As a successful candidate, you will be part of an R&D organization that is responsible for the development of Inkjet and Laser printers and new business investigations. You will collaborate with individual contributors and managers in firmware, software, cloud, hardware, marketing, operations and other functions. You will have responsibilities during all phases of program scoping, development, testing, qualifying, documenting, and current product support/enhancements.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives.
  • Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope.
  • Collaborates with team members and partners on development activities.
  • Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.
  • Ability to handle unique and ambiguous situations.
  • Designs enhancements, updates, and programs changes for subsystems of firmware
  • Analyzes designs and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
  • Member of a project team collaborating to develop product solutions that are reliable, cost effective and of high quality for assigned systems portion or subsystem.
  • Collaborates and partners with team members, management, and other development partners regarding firmware design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Typically 0-2 years experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience or understanding of firmware design tools and languages.
  • Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • General understanding of firmware and hardware design, including interactions and integrations of firmware with hardware
  • Understanding of basic testing and debugging methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
