Job Description

Applies the basic foundation of a function's principles, theories and concepts to assignments of limited scope. Uses professional concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training, education or previous experience. Develops expertise and practical knowledge of applications within the business environment. Acts as a team member by providing information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts. Exercises independent judgment within defined parameters.

The Print Hardware System team is looking for a Marketing Data Analyst to bring business insights to help us drive HP+, one of the most strategic initiatives of the company. As the undisputed market leader, with the launch of HP+, we are challenging the status quo and continuing to innovate by providing greater choice to our customers thru a smarter and simpler printing experience.  With our forest first initiative and cartridge recycling program HP+ is the most sustainable printing solution on the planet.
As HP is reinventing the printer business with HP+, the Marketing Data Analyst will develop models, metrics and benchmarks to provide insights into the performance of HP+.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business, operational and financial metrics, such as sales trends, conversion funnel, customer sentiment, etc…
  • Apply statistical techniques to develop models of customer behaviour such as purchase preference, trial adoption, and subscription retention, …
  • Produce consistent, reliable, analysis that can be replicated over various dimensions of data
  • Contribute to the development of a programmatic framework to scale analysis efforts to support the worldwide expansion
  • Develop an automated alert system to bring attention to emerging trends and anomalous data signals across various dimensions of data (e.g. regions, vendors, printer class)

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
  • Programming experience required with knowledge of R, Python or SQL preferred

Desired Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to use creative problem-solving techniques to quickly execute and report on ad-hoc analytics requests from business stakeholders
  • Ability to interpret analysis results and draw conclusions
  • Understanding of analytic and statistical methods with emphasis on implementation via programming language
  • Ability to write clean and intuitive code along with any supporting documentation needed to communicate the work
  • Understanding of batch processing of data and script automation
  • Strong ability to debug and test code
  • Comfortable programmatically connecting to databases to access raw data
  • Experience using version control (e.g. Git)
  • Ability to schedule jobs via Ubuntu OS or Databricks preferred
  • Strong R (Tidyverse) programming skills preferred
  • Startup attitude and a passion for business innovation. Ability to work in new, fast-paced environments
  • Strong written/oral communication skills, fluent in English
