About Google

Google LLC is an American multinational technology company focusing on search engine technology, online advertising, cloud computing, computer software, quantum computing, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, and consumer electronics. It has been referred to as "the most powerful company in the world" and one of the world's most valuable brands due to its market dominance, data collection, and technological advantages in the area of artificial intelligence. Its parent company Alphabet is considered one of the Big Five American information technology companies, alongside Amazon, Apple, Meta, and Microsoft.

Your Role

The Student Researcher Program’s primary objective is to foster academic collaborations with students through research at Google. Join them for a paid Student Researcher position that offers the opportunity to work directly with Google research scientists and engineers on research projects.

The Student Researcher Program offers more opportunities for research students to work on critical research projects at Google in a less structured way. The program allows opportunities beyond the limitations of their traditional internship program on aspects such as duration, time commitment, and working location (with options for on-site or remote). The topics student researchers work on tend to be open-ended and exploratory, and don't always have a clear deliverable like a traditional internship would.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in research to develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems.

Training & Development

Googlers share their knowledge and skills in workshops, one-to-one sessions, job aids, and beyond. Google encourages passionate teachers who are experts in that content to deliver training to its employees. Not only does this engage people, but it also cuts the costs associated with training and ensures the budget is only used for specialized training programs or sessions and niche content that’s needed. Google is very transparent about its learning and development strategy. That means you can learn from the best in the business and it also made your job a little easier.

Compensation & Benefits

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000-$116,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.

The company strives to provide Googlers and their loved ones with a world-class benefits experience, focused on supporting their physical, financial, and emotional well-being.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents.
  • Generous 401(k) and regional retirement plans.
  • Paid time off, including vacation, bereavement, jury duty, sick leave, parental leave, disability, holidays, and global reset/well-being days.
  • Family support and care.
  • Community and personal development. Providing room and opportunities to grow — on your own and with your teammates.
  • Google extras. Programming, spaces, and resources to support your growth, productivity, and well-being.

Career Progression

Googler-to-Googler peer learning, and coaching platform, Employee resource groups for underrepresented employees and their allies, and Internal Googler community groups and local culture clubs are inclusive in Google benefits to enhance the career of its googlers/employees.

Work-Life Balance

Google makes sure every Googler feels seen, connected, supported, and empowered to participate fully. Hybrid work model — two work-from-home days each week for most roles and Remote work opportunities available at Google. Four “work from anywhere” weeks per year and Part-time work and job-sharing options are also part of Google benefits at work.

Company Culture

Across Google, they are sustaining its commitment to building sustainable equity for communities worldwide. Their efforts include strengthening workplace onboarding programs, developing entrepreneurial tools, and creating economic opportunities for underrepresented groups.
