About Cigna

The Cigna Group is a global health company committed to creating a better future built on the vitality of every individual and every community. Through its divisions, Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth Health Services are committed to enhancing the lives of its clients, customers, and patients. Cigna Healthcare, a division of The Cigna Group, advocates for better health through every stage of life.

Your role

As a member of The Cigna Group's Actuarial Executive Development Program (AEDP), you will take your existing analytical and technical skills and put them to work in a business setting, making a difference for millions across the globe!

Training, development & rotations

As a program associate, you will join a large, welcoming community of actuaries who are readily available to teach and mentor you. The community — from senior executives to current associates — are committed to providing one-on-one career advice and having discussions about their roles and experience in the health services industry.

You will develop through rotational opportunities in core actuarial areas such as pricing, reserving, forecasting, and risk management. Additionally, program associates explore opportunities in audit, data & analytics, investment management, and operations. A typical experience consists of 1 to 2 rotations, lasting 18-24 months, totaling a full program length of 2-4 years.

Salary & benefits

For this position, Cigna anticipates offering an annual salary of 97,400 - 162,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location. This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.

Starting on day one of your employment, you’ll be offered several health-related benefits including medical, vision, dental, and well-being and behavioral health programs. It also offers 401(k) with company match, company-paid life insurance, tuition reimbursement, a minimum of 18 days of paid time off per year, and paid holidays.

Career progression

While your career path is ultimately in your hands, the AEDP will help guide you along your journey. The AEDP has a dedicated program team, including two credentialed FSAs, that work with associates to help identify job and professional development opportunities, support your attainment of the Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries, and provide leadership and professional insight to the AEDP’s 160+ members.

Work-life balance

Employees at Cigna enjoy increased flexibility with most working fully or partially remote. The majority of its offices have been updated with technology that makes remote work possible.

Program associates are encouraged to work flexible schedules from the office locations. A flexible schedule can be at least two days per week in the office. There are potential opportunities to travel on-site for meetings, program summits, and community engagement & social activities.
